Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Staffs with nationwide travel
Salary: £55k - £65k plus package
Our client provides a quality construction service, ranging from fitout projects to new build projects, primarily to the hospitality sector and supporting housing projects for disabled/assisted living accommodation.
You will have 5 to 10 years' experience in the industry, as a Contractor’s or Sub-Contractor’s Senior Quantity Surveyor. You will offer a range of commercial services across various build sectors. Experience with fast-changing, large refurbishment contracts within the hospitality sector would be an advantage.
As a Senior QS, you will be responsible for all post-tender aspects of multiple projects, including preparing and agreeing final accounts, managing sub-contractors' accounts, and full financial management/control of each project, including producing monthly cost/value reconciliations. Developing a portfolio of clients, you will oversee all commercial aspects of contracts. This role offers an excellent opportunity for development and potential progression to Managing Surveyor or Surveying Director.
General duties include but are not limited to:
1. Managing day-to-day quantity surveying tasks on allocated contracts, including valuations, final accounts, sub-contractor payments, and internal financial reports.
2. Assisting with subcontract procurement, undertaken by Construction Managers.
3. Managing cost control measures and working with various contract types.
4. Maximising profit, accurate forecasting, and risk management.
5. Providing financial performance information for projects.
6. Producing information for subcontract enquiries.
7. Preparing and submitting change control requests.
8. Preparing, analysing, and negotiating costs for tenders and contracts.
9. Producing and inputting data for CVRs.
10. Measuring builder’s quantities and forming Bills of Quantities.
11. Pricing Bills of Quantities and discussing with clients.
12. Maintaining project records to substantiate claims and change notifications.
13. Issuing contractual notices timely.
14. Preparing valuations/applications for payment with supporting documentation.
15. Agreeing final accounts with client representatives.
16. Measuring subcontractor works and valuing payments.
17. Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
