Overview
Facilities Manager at Mears Group PLC – Bristol. This is a full-time permanent role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Salary: up to £39,000 per annum, plus a company vehicle and fuel card. Travel is required across Bristol, Bath and Portsmouth to support contract requirements.
About the Role
We are looking to hire a Facilities Manager to join our team in Bristol. The role involves regular travel across Bristol, Bath and Portsmouth where the business requires. The main responsibility is to ensure that the service provided to the facilities meets the contract specification and is managed in a compliant and safe manner. The role will involve managing a team of 6 including a Supervisor, Electrician, Gas Engineers and Housing Officers.
Responsibilities
* Monitor, evaluate and control the use of sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure compliant delivery of PPM, Reactive and lifecycle services.
* Monitor, evaluate and control the performance of internal labour and resources to deliver PPM, Reactive and lifecycle services.
* Participate in the branch call-out rota where required.
* Ensure that all contractual and service level requirements are achieved for relevant service offerings.
* Provide specialist input across FM contracts as appropriate, including assistance with bids/tenders when necessary.
* Assist in broader operational management of the service contract delivery, including covering for other managers and contributing to planning and development of the service.
* Organise/Coordinate and assist with compiling and producing various reports, including Monthly reports, Lifecycle Condition Surveys and other projects.
* Attend meetings and training to maintain up-to-date knowledge and progression; this includes training, toolbox talks, 1:1s and probation reviews.
Role Criteria
* Experience within the commercial sector.
* Full understanding of PPM and reactive maintenance.
* Experience managing sub-contractors and resources.
* People management experience, including managing trades.
* Understanding and knowledge of Gas Engineers and Electricians’ duties.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Willingness to travel; regular UK travel involved.
* Full UK driving license.
* Entitlement to work in the UK; no visa sponsorship.
* DBS/Security checks before commencement of employment.
* To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21, have held your licence for more than 3 months and have less than 9 points.
