SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – Year 6)
Location: Preston
Start Date: Week commencing 24th November 2025
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
We are seeking a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 6 within our welcoming mainstream primary school in Preston.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference, supporting a child who is transitioning back into school from an alternative provision. The successful candidate will help the child to feel safe, valued, and ready to learn each day.
The child responds particularly well to smiley faces, clear structure, and the use of a visual timetable, so we are looking for someone who can offer consistency, encouragement, and a positive approach.
The successful candidate will:
* Have experience supporting children with additional needs or social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties (desirable).
* Be patient, nurturing, and able to build positive, trusting relationships.
* Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and wider team to provide tailored support.
* Use structure, routine, and visual aids to promote engagement and independence.
* Be reliable, proactive, and committed to helping every child succeed.
*
We can offer:
* A friendly, inclusive school community.
* Supportive staff and leadership team.
* A rewarding role where you can make a genuine impact on a child’s educational journey.
If you are a compassionate and adaptable individual who enjoys helping children thrive, we would love to hear from you.
