Job Title: CNC Setter / Operator

Salary: Hourly rate £15.78p – £16.97 plus shift allowance
Shift Pattern: Week 1 – Mon – Thurs – 6:00 am – 2:15 pm; Fri 6:00 am – 1:00 pm. Week 2 – Mon – Wed – 2:00 pm – 12:00 am; Thu 2:00 pm – 11:30 pm
Role Summary
Working closely as part of the machine shop manufacturing team to produce high‑quality machined products supporting the assembly and tubing function. Setting and operating CNC machines to enable the production of various sizes, lengths and specifications of machined products supporting critical industries including biopharma, medical, water, food, and special processing industries.
Supporting Fixed Head CNC lathes (up to 10 axis), multi‑axis milling equipment (3, 4 and 5 axis) and CNC sliding head turning (up to 10 axis).
What You’ll Be Doing
- Set and operate equipment within the Watson‑Marlow Limited Machine shop (Falmouth), ensuring products are supplied efficiently, on time, in full and to the quality specification required to meet customer needs.
- Work with operators to maximise machine utilisation.
- Promote good environmental health and safety processes throughout the machine shop area.
- Collaborate with the production team to deliver required components on plan.
- Use your knowledge to improve best practice.
- Maintain equipment so that it exceeds customer expectations through Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and early fault diagnosis.
- Support the TPM team during their activities.
- Support the Global Excellence in Manufacturing (GEM / Lean) process.
- Support the company’s values, 5S activities within the workshop.
- Proactively work with the team leader and technicians to further your personal development.
- Use and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support business continuity.
- Support the quality team on RCCA (Root Cause and Corrective Action).
What You’ll Need to Be Successful in This Role
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment based within a machine shop.
- Relevant engineering qualification and/or suitable demonstrated experience in CNC turning.
- A keen eye for detail and a willingness to utilise all available resources to drive process improvement.
- The ability to work with others to achieve team goals.
- Willingness to mentor and train apprentices and operators to improve their skill set and understanding of machining.
