Job Description:

TL;DR

Love games? Love getting things done even more? We’re looking for a Creative Operations Director to bring order to the chaos, keep projects profitable, and help shape the future of our agency. Must know their way around a budget, a schedule, and a production pipeline. And not be afraid to get stuck in.

WHO ARE OTHER THINGS?

We’re a creative agency focusing on gaming and entertainment industries. We produce videos, websites, marketing, brand assets, and more for some of the world’s biggest gaming brands.

We’re called Other Things.

WHAT’S THE JOB?

We need someone to bring structure to the chaos and clarity to our creative processes. A seasoned Creative Operations Director familiar with studio workflows who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and get involved.

This is a senior, pivotal role. You’ll ensure projects run smoothly, on time, on budget, and without burnout.

You’ll own operations: managing resources, refining systems, controlling budgets, and keeping the team moving. You’ll work closely with leadership, shaping growth, setting expectations, and resolving issues.

As part of a small team, you’ll bring experience and strategic insight but also handle daily tasks like running standups, updating timelines, and coordinating freelancers.

You’ll also interact with clients regarding timelines, scopes, and approvals. If you have a network of reliable editors, devs, or designers, that’s a plus.

If you’ve looked at a Trello board and thought, “this could be better,” then we’re on the same page.

This is a rare chance to influence our operations and help Other Things grow.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Manage daily and long-term studio operations.
* Develop systems, workflows, and tools to improve efficiency and quality.
* Oversee resource planning, utilization, and capacity forecasting.
* Build and optimize delivery pipelines from briefing to delivery.

PROJECT & ACCOUNT OVERSIGHT

* Maintain an overview of all projects, ensuring scope, timelines, and budgets are met.
* Act as a senior escalation point and problem solver.
* Collaborate with clients and creative leads to deliver top-quality work.

CLIENT & STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

* Lead delivery for key clients.
* Support pitches and proposals with operational insights.
* Ensure transparent communication around delivery and resourcing.
* Align client expectations with creative and team capacity.
* Onboard new clients.

TEAM & CULTURE

* Foster ownership, accountability, and collaboration.
* Assist in attracting top talent, freelancers, and staff.

COMMERCIAL & STRATEGIC INPUT

* Monitor studio performance metrics like profitability and efficiency.
* Partner with founders on business planning and growth strategies.
* Support client pitches with operational plans.

SOUNDS INTERESTING. HOW DO I GET THE GIG?

We’re seeking someone experienced in creative agency or studio management, confident in running daily operations with minimal oversight.

You should be a clear communicator, a problem solver, and passionate about enabling great work.

We want someone to push our operations forward, defining and building outstanding processes.

Skills include experience with production workflows, managing budgets, and a passion for gaming and entertainment.

REQUIRED:

* Proven senior experience in creative operations or studio management
* Deep understanding of creative production (design, video, digital)
* Strong resource management skills
* Proactive problem identification
* Hands-on approach
* Budget management experience
* Experience improving workflows and systems
* Passion for gaming and entertainment

DESIRED:

* Network of trusted freelancers and suppliers
* Familiarity with Trello, Slack, Google Drive
* Ability to handle creative chaos with humor and efficiency

WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?

Competitive pay, exciting clients, and the chance to shape our operations in gaming and entertainment.

Lead the growth of a rising creative agency.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW?

Location: Mostly remote, occasional meet-ups in Leeds. Flexible for the right candidate.

Hours: 40 hours/week

Job Type: Permanent, full-time

Pay: Competitive based on experience
