Description Housing Solutions Officers Salary: £37,815 - £43,083 per annum Grade: E Permanent Contract x 2 posts 37 Hours per Week A superb opportunity has emerged for Housing Solutions Officers to join Thurrock Council. We are looking for exceptional candidates with a range of skills including knowledge of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended), the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, landlord and tenant law, the ability to interpret legislation, and the statutory process involved in the administration of homelessness assessments. In this role you will be responsible for assessing customers' housing needs in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, producing and agreeing a personalised housing plan which you will keep under regular review until a long-term, sustainable housing solution is secured. You will also be adept at drafting decision letters, and letters confirming the council’s duties as laid down in the relevant pieces of legislation, as well as providing advice to both landlords and tenants. As a Housing Solutions Officer your key role will be to prevent homelessness by helping customers retain their current accommodation and, where this cannot be achieved, provide access to a range of suitable alternative housing options fulfilling the Council's statutory obligations as set out in the Housing Act 1996 (as amended) and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
