The Role
* Manage own specialist caseload, using evidence‑based practice and person‑centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in both hospital and community settings.
* Provide day to day supervision for occupational therapy staff, support staff and students.
* Provide specialist clinical intervention and consultation to occupational therapy staff and other disciplines.
* Duties may vary depending on the care group / clinical specialty / assigned area of work.
This post is offered as fixed term/secondment for 12 months.
In this key role, you will:
* Responsible for the Occupational Therapy triage, assessment and rehabilitation for a specialist caseload.
* Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and modify specialist treatment interventions to meet complex individual patient needs.
* Assess patient capacity, gain informed consent and work within a public protection assurance framework.
* Assessment and prescription of equipment to facilitate patients’ independence and minimise risk.
What You’ll Bring:
* Registered Occupational Therapist with valid HCPC registration.
* Educated to and operating at degree level.
* Post‑graduate expertise within a specialty / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge to lead safely, effectively and efficiently.
* Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the specialty / area of practice.
* A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part‑time working hours will be reduced on a pro‑rata basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
