Overview
Female Support Worker - Carmarthenshire at Case Management Cymru. Permanent position, 16 hours weekly. Location: St Clears – Southwest Carmarthenshire. Working pattern: 16 hours weekly (typical shifts Monday, Wednesday and Friday and either Saturday or Sunday). Some flexibility is required to accommodate client needs and activities, particularly during school holidays. Shifts may include lone working or working with the client’s family. Pay per hour: £15. We are seeking a caring, reliable female support worker to assist a 14-year-old girl with Down syndrome after school, on weekends and during school holidays. The role involves providing personal care, promoting independence, supporting social participation, and ensuring safety at home and in the community. The ideal candidate will have experience in disability support, excellent communication skills and a person-centred approach that empowers our client to achieve her goals.
At Case Management Cymru we provide highly professional, bespoke case management to adults and children with a range of life-changing conditions/injuries. We pride ourselves on delivering a specialist service that recognises the uniqueness of every client; all with very different aspirations and challenges.
A full induction and training will be provided. This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS.
Responsibilities
* Provide personal care and support to a 14-year-old girl with Down syndrome after school, on weekends and during school holidays.
* Promote independence and social participation within home and community settings.
* Ensure safety of the client in the home and during activities outside the home.
* Work flexibly to meet the client’s needs, including lone working when required.
Essential Information
* Experience of working with children who have high care needs.
* Drive and willingness to drive the family van.
* Ability to work flexible hours.
* Ability to swim.
* Willingness to register with Social Care Wales.
* Enhanced DBS clearance.
