About the Role Are you ready to be part of one of the UK’s most ambitious energy projects? At Hinkley Point C, we’re entering an exciting phase of commissioning activity, and we’re looking for a Commissioning Engineer to help shape the future of low-carbon energy. If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and want to make a real impact, this could be the opportunity for you. You will be required on site a minimum of 4 days per week at either: Hinkley Point C, Aztec West, or Bridgwater SDC. The Opportunity At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes. As a Commissioning Engineer, you’ll join the Cross Functional Delivery Team, supporting the Temporary Modifications Process. This is your chance to be part of a growing, dynamic team tackling some of the most critical challenges in the safe and effective commissioning of HPC. You’ll help shape and refine commissioning processes, contribute to Configuration Management, and play a key role in developing the skilled workforce needed to deliver this nationally significant project. Pay, Benefits & Culture The salary range associated with this role is circa £55,000 dependant on experience, we offer a competitive benefits package, including a company pension scheme, and a wide range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle. We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans. At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated. Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ, those with a disability and supporting social mobility. We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments. We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal. What You’ll Be Doing In this role, you’ll be instrumental in supporting the delivery teams with the execution of the Temporary Modifications Process. You’ll coordinate and lead regular meetings with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment and progress across the programme. Your input will help maintain high standards of safety, quality, and compliance. You’ll also provide training and guidance to commissioning teams, sharing your expertise to build capability and confidence. By conducting technical assurance and identifying potential risks, you’ll help safeguard the integrity of the commissioning process. Using internal data tools, you’ll generate reports and insights that drive continuous improvement. You’ll also contribute to refining the process itself, enhancing efficiency, supporting regulatory compliance, and helping to industrialise our approach. Plus, you’ll gain exposure to other key areas like design change, issue management, and test result verification. Who You Are You bring a strong foundation in engineering; ideally with a degree in mechanical, chemical, or process engineering and have experience working in operational or design environments. Perhaps you’ve worked as a Process Engineer, Project Engineer, or in a plant-based role supporting engineering processes. You understand how technical systems operate in real-world settings and can apply that knowledge to support commissioning activities from an engineering perspective. Your background may include experience in mechanical or chemical process systems, and you’re comfortable engaging with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems. You’re someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, where your input helps shape processes and improve outcomes. Whether you’re supporting MEH activities or advising on technical design work, you’re driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact on a project that matters. Closing date for applications is 12th August; interviews will follow shortly after. Additionally, you must meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which generally requires you to have been a UK resident for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
