In this position youll take ownership and be responsible for the design, commissioning and testing of High Temperature Heat Pump instrumentation and all ancillary equipment, both in house and onsite at partner and client locations. This will include some local travel but it is not extensive. This will include activities such as: Responsible for specifying, developing, delivering, and implementing robust, productionised mechanical/electrical/electronic testing solutions to support products; current and new. Responsible for configuring and programming of test control and instrumentation hardware and software, e.g. LabVIEW programming. Responsible for wiring and installing sensors as required for testing. Manage / Lead test equipment introduction (whether in-house or 3rd party). Ownership of all test facilities, processes and procedures, including ownership of preventative and un-planned maintenance activities. Responsible for calibrating equipment Link between Production and Engineering for new product developments Responsible for ensuring root cause diagnosis is carried out, and implementing corrective & preventative actions for product failures and returns Champion of continuous improvement and lean production methodologies for test processes. Conduct FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) on NPD/I (New product development/Introduction) Areas of interest include: Degree or equivalent: Electrical Engineering or mechanical engineering Excellent fault finding skills. Good experience in commissioning electrical and mechanical systems. Good awareness of health and safety issues and strong adherence to safety policies. Experience with automation and control platforms, e.g. Programmable Logic Controllers, RTUs, industrial PCs, single-board computers, microcontrollers, National Instruments LabVIEW. Experience developing test strategies and designing and implementing new test processes. Experience using Solidworks, or similar CAD program. Ability to perform and/or oversee laboratory testing. Ability to perform and/or oversee onsite testing Desirable to be certified to 18th edition wiring regulations. This position would suit an Engineer who is adaptable, a self-starter, responsive, have a problem solving approach and be determined and keen to take ownership; this could mean stretching your remit, stepping outside of your comfort zone or finding creative solutions to any obstacles you face. Youll also need to be highly collaborative and see your achievements as something shared by the team. Some local travel will be required.
