Macro/RV Rates Researcher | Fixed Income Hedge Fund | London [Onsite]
We are working with a fast-growing fixed income hedge fund who are looking to hire a rates researcher to join their evolving team in London. This is a full lifecycle role, working alongside the PM with a focus on sophisticated and detailed research and analysis. This is a good opportunity for someone who has a passion for financial plumbing; someone with a keen interest in money market dynamics.
The requirements are as follows:
* 2-5 years of experience** at a tier 1 bank or fund ideally working in an economist/strategy/research capacity. **Outliers will be considered.
* Strong enthusiasm and understanding of financial system infrastructure/monetary system mechanics and STIR markets
* A demonstrable background in research methodology and financial plumbing.
* Minimum BSc from a highly regarded institutions in a relevant subject
Due to the nature and size of the fund, the role will be broad. However, key responsibilities will involve:
* Conduct in-depth research and analysis of financial systems and short-term interest rate markets
* Develop and enhance data analytics tools and dashboards to support ongoing analysis.
* Undertake market scanning/research to keep up to date with current trends
* Supporting stakeholders on trade booking and execution
As highlighted, the fund has a collaborative nature but are agile in their practices. They are, furthermore, very structured in the way they trade. Therefore, they require someone pragmatic, self-starting and details orientated. Due to the funds philosophy, granularity in research and a genuine appetite for analysing regulatory changes (and other apt areas) are imperative.
