An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Gynae theatres, to recruit a Band 5 ODP/Anaesthetic Nurse (Theatre Practitioner) to join our friendly theatre team. You will be a highly motivated, innovative, and progressive individual committed to the development of yourself, the team, and improving our newly developing service. As we cover the oncology and benign gynae service, the anaesthetic and surgical techniques used are very diverse. Everyday is different, challenging and rewarding.
You will be joining a pro-active, dynamic team of nurses and ODP's who offer the best standards of perioperative care. We pride ourselves on team work, learning and being forward thinking.
You MUST possess an anaesthetic qualification, and be registered with HCPC or have undertaken a recognised anaesthetic course, if you are a registered nurse. You should have scrub experience or a willingness to learn the scrub practitioner role.
Please note, that due to ongoing service developments the post holder may be required cross site at our other Theatre Complex with the agreement of the Speciality Team Leader.
Main duties of the job
Expectations are to deliver a high standard of care with patient safety and quality as a priority. You should be able to demonstrate effective team working, work to high standards, be able to communicate effectively and work with the multi disciplinary team.
Gynaecology experience is preferable but not essential.
All persons appointed to the post are required to hold registration with their appropriate professional regulatory body and to comply with their professional code of conduct. Evidence of on-going registration will be required. You are required to have a recognised anaesthetic qualification.
