About the Opportunity:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Joint Engineering Transport Services (JETS) team as a Workshop Manager, covering the full workshop and managing a team of Supervisors and Light and Heavy Vehicle Technicians.
Based in our Stoke-on-Trent, Trentham workshop, you will have the opportunity to directly contribute in making the County of Staffordshire Safer whilst working within a wider team at JETS. In addition, you could be attending any of our sites for both Staffordshire Police & Fire to carry out support to the Technicians for inspections, repair, and maintenance of the Fleet of vehicles under JETS remit.
The post holder will have experience in managing a workshop within the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles and motor industry, including cars, light commercial vehicles and ideally heavy vehicles. They will be qualified to level 3, have MOT and O Licence experience and have knowledge, skills and experience to lead and manage a team of individuals.
Working in a modern clean safe workshop environment with great road networking links, having access to the latest equipment to maintain and service the mixed fleet of varied manufacture models and vehicle types (ICE, Hybrid & EV).
The post holder, where required, will have the opportunity to keep up to date and further upskill their knowledge and skillsets as we invest in our staff, providing both bespoke in-house and external training to be able to service and maintain the fleet of vehicles appropriately. The post holder will also be willing to form part of an on-call rota of Duty Managers, to triage and action 24/7 callouts throughout both Fire and Police organisations.
