About the role
The National Account Executive will support day-to-day trading with responsibility for a small subcategory.
Key responsibilities include:
* Customer Management: Develop and maintain commercial contact strategy across multiple levels.
* Upselling: Identify and exploit all sales opportunities relevant to the customer and channel.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and manage relationships with key customers.
* Joint Business Planning: full accountability from planning to execution.
* Commercial Acumen: Input into the Commercial Plan and monitor & manage channel volume and profitability against benchmarks (LY, Budget), aiming for sustainable growth.
* Cross Functional Collaboration: Work with finance colleagues to improve cash flow across sectors.
* Market & Consumer Insights: Communicate trends within the channel to internal teams.
* Delivery: Set and deliver objectives aligned with organizational targets.
* Project Management: Lead and support projects as needed.
* P&L Management: Understand customer P&L and growth drivers.
* Team Management: Manage employee activities in line with company policies (if applicable).
Other Accountabilities Include
* Reporting & Forecasting: Create weekly financial reports and forecasts.
* Account Administration: Manage promotional tracking and system updates.
* Business Development: Build buyer relationships for future opportunities.
* Budget Management: Deliver budgeted GP for the sub-category.
* Wider Team Support: Assist with ad hoc projects and reports.
* Analysis: Attend meetings to understand category performance at SKU level.
* Activation & Execution: Ensure brands are showcased to drive volume and profit.
* Monitoring: Conduct store visits during promotional cycles.
* Strategic Planning/Delivery: Execute business plans for the sub-category.
What you’ll bring:
* At least 1 year experience as an NAE in FMCG within Off-Trade.
* Account management experience, ideally with P&L responsibility.
* Strong selling and negotiation skills.
* Ability to analyse data for commercial insights.
* Genuine enthusiasm and knowledge about products.
* Customer-focused mindset.
* Effective communication skills.
* Ability to build proactive working relationships.
* Results-oriented approach.
* Physical and Other Requirements:
o Some travel and out-of-hours work may be required.
o Bachelor’s degree and WSET qualification are advantageous.
o Full, clean driver’s license.
