Senior Commercial Manager, Watford
£60,000 - £65,000 + great benefits package
Our client, a well know and much respected leader in their chosen field, is looking to add the capabilities of a talented and highly driven senior commercial manager to their ranks. The chosen individual will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the organisation's commercial strategy.
The position which has materialised due to internal movements and succession planning will allow for real creative flair and a chance to play a pivotal role within a fast moving prestigious enterprise.
This role will initially take the lead on a number of special projects that would typically sit outside of BAU activities, which includes the digitisation of the quotation process to improve efficiency and client experience, review and optimise the profitability of products and services, and drive strategic initiatives that support business growth, market competitiveness, and operational excellence.
Those interested in applying for this position must be able to provide solid working examples of holistic business partnering with large corporate entities, facilitating sound decision making and an understanding of performance. Specifically you will focus on the following:
• Develop, implement, and oversee the company's commercial strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.
• Identify market opportunities, emerging trends, and competitive threats.
• Lead pricing and margin optimisation initiatives across the business.
• Support business development activities through strategic input on tenders, partnerships, and new market entry.
• Present regular commercial performance updates to the senior leadership team
• Lead the end-to-end transformation of the quotation process, including scoping, selecting, and implementing digital tools/platforms.
• Establish digital quotation KPIs to track speed, accuracy, and conversion rates.
• Conduct ongoing profitability analysis of products, services, and client accounts.
• Lead commercial due diligence for potential new offerings or partnerships.
• Implement contract management processes to ensure commercial compliance and risk mitigation.
• Manage, mentor, and develop commercial team members to achieve departmental and organisational goals.
The successful individual will be responsive to demand for fast turnaround of analysis to support decisions, maintain the appropriate balance of speed and accuracy and be ready to question assumptions in a constructive way.
