Pay, benefits and more:
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £30906 per annum. You will be working a 4 on 4 off night shift pattern 1900- 0700, 20 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
Operational:
1. To allocate drivers to routes and vehicles to ensure the cost-effective deployment of manpower and the achievement of contractual delivery times
2. Ensure all administrative traffic duties are carried out as necessary and to a high level of accuracy and professionalism
3. To liaise with line manager to ensure the effective use of hire vehicles / sub contractors minimising the cost impact to the business
4. To ensure that details of vehicle accidents are escalated to line manager
5. To ensure that defected vehicles are recorded on traffic sheets
6. To ensure that the procedure for damaged deliveries is followed where necessary
7. To achieve weekly and monthly KPIs as set by the business and / or Customer Service Level Agreements, escalating any issues impacting on these to line management
8. To use all IT based systems in the effective delivery of their role including Paragon, Mi-Sharp etc.
Communication:
9. Ensures that appropriate communication methods are used to provide information to both internal and external customers as required e.g. debrief of drivers, dealing with customer issues etc.
Legislative requirements:
10. To ensure that all traffic planning activity is undertaken in line with legislative requirements e.g. RTR etc
11. To ensure compliance with Company Health & Safety requirements highlighting any concerns to line management
Other:
12. To support the management team in the development of other colleagues
13. To demonstrate the Company Values in the undertaking if their role
14. To undertake any other reasonable task as required.
To undertake any relevant training events in line with own personal development needs and business requirements
What you need to succeed at XPO:
15. CPC* would be desirable
16. Working knowledge of driver hours regulations
17. Good geographical knowledge of the UK
18. Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
19. Financial Understanding
20. Operational understanding of team roles
21. Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
22. Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
23. Ability to work under pressure and react quickly to customer requirements
24. Effective Customer Service Skills
25. Ability to take a creative approach to problem solving.
26. Previous experience within a transport / logistics organisation
27. Experience of managing conflicting priorities in a fast moving environment
