2 months contract with a local authority Job Purpose The Project Support Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the successful delivery of the SEND Transformation Programme. This post exists to ensure effective coordination, administration, and data support across programme activities, enabling the team to drive meaningful and sustainable improvements for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The role requires strong organisational skills, proactive problem ‑ solving, and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. Key Duties/Accountabilities Maintain, update, and organise all project documentation, registers, and tracking tools. Monitor programme actions, risks, issues, dependencies, and milestones, ensuring timely follow ‑ up. Prepare regular progress updates, reports, and dashboards to support programme governance. Coordinate and schedule meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement events. Produce accurate minutes, capture key actions, and ensure effective follow ‑ up. Support communication across teams by preparing briefing notes, presentations, and updates. Essential Experience Required Experience providing administrative or project support within a complex programme or service environment (essential). Previous work in a SEND service, children’s services, education, or a similar setting (highly desirable). Essential Qualifications Required Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additional information to note Working hours: 22.50 hours per week Requirement of 5 days per week, including 2 days on-site in the office Part-time availability: Must be available to work 3 days per week, with a requirement to be in the office 1–2 days per week.
