We are currently working with a well-renowned, privately owned contractor with a long-standing reputation for successfully delivering high-quality commercial, leisure, education, and healthcare projects across Wales.
As a result of securing a new flagship education project in West Wales—a £15M new build school commissioned by a local authority—they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to oversee the full life cycle of the scheme, from pre-construction through to successful handover.
This is a high-profile project with a build programme of approximately 18 months, scheduled to start on site in late summer 2025. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the scheme, ensuring it is delivered safely, on time, and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and stakeholder satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the project from pre-construction through to completion and handover
* Work closely with the client, design team, and internal departments
* Manage and coordinate the site delivery team, including subcontractors
* Oversee the programme of works and ensure milestones are met
* Monitor site progress, cost control, and compliance with contractual obligations
* Maintain excellent health & safety and environmental standards
* Provide regular updates to senior management and key stakeholders
* Ensure quality control and client satisfaction throughout all phases of the project
Key Criteria:
* Proven experience delivering new build projects within a main contracting environment
* Strong commercial and contractual awareness
* Exceptional organisational and planning skills
* Experienced in managing design and build contracts from start to finish
* Skilled at coordinating multiple teams and liaising with external consultants and client representatives
* Comfortable working on public sector projects, ideally within the education sector
* Relevant qualifications including SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Platinum), and First Aid
