Company Overview:
Our client is a well-established marine logistics company based in Wallsend, providing high-quality logistics and supply chain support to the marine and offshore sectors. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced FLT Driver / Stores Operative to join their team on a full-time basis.
Role Overview:
This is a varied role combining forklift operation with responsibility for managing and maintaining the company’s stores inventory. You will ensure materials, tools, and equipment are stored, tracked, and distributed efficiently, using Excel-based tracking systems (with a move to dedicated stock management software in the near future). You will be responsible for taking customer instruction and actioning those instructions in a stores enviroment. Ensuring deliveries are ready to go out on time.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate counterbalance and/or reach FLTs safely and efficiently to move materials around the site.

Load and unload deliveries, ensuring goods are checked and stored correctly.
*
Maintain accurate stock records using Excel spreadsheets.
*
Support the transition from Excel-based inventory tracking to new inventory management software.
*
Conduct regular stock checks, reconciliations, and audits.
*
Ensure stores areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards.
*
Liaise with production, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure materials are available when required.
*
Assist with general warehouse and logistics duties as needed.
Requirements:
*
Valid Counterbalance or Reach FLT licence (RTITB or ITSSAR accredited).
*
Valid Driver's Licnese
*
Previous experience in a similar warehouse or stores role.
*
Strong Excel skills for inventory tracking and reporting.
*
Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
*
Willingness to adapt to new systems and software.
*
A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a focus on accuracy and safety.
