Job Duties
1. Maintains Media Services computers, devices, and equipment according to established
procedures and oversees loaning of computers, devices, and equipment through library
systems.
2. Records usage statistics according to established procedures.
3. Set up new computers and devices to integrate with university networks.
4. Investigates options for acquiring new computers, devices, and equipment.
5. Performs inventory of Media Services resources under supervision of manager.
6. Supervises use of and maintains the equipment in the library’s makerspaces.
7. Prepares guides and conducts training on using computers, devices, equipment, and
software.
8. Helps administer the library’s equipment and room reservation systems.
9. Hires, trains, manages, and evaluates student workers for the department.
10. Provides excellent customer service to library patrons serving at the Information
Services Desk during scheduled day, evening, and weekend shifts.

This position involves supervising student workers
Minimum Qualifications
• Have a working knowledge of multimedia equipment, new technologies, computers, and computer software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office suite, etc.
• Experience using PCs and Macs, restoring factory settings, installing software, and performing computer maintenance.
• Experience developing, interpreting and applying departmental policies and procedures.
• Ability to hire, train, supervise, and evaluate student workers.
• Good customer service skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Considerations
• A bachelor’s degree in library science, computer science, or related field.
• Experience working in a library and using automated library systems.
• At least one year’s experience working with a variety of media equipment.
