Are you a passionate Science Teacher who believes that strong relationships, consistency, and understanding can change a young person’s future? We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Science Teacher to join a specialist educational setting supporting young people who have experienced trauma and significant challenges in their lives. This role is about far more than delivering the curriculum - it is about creating safety, rebuilding trust, and helping students rediscover their potential. Many of our students have struggled in mainstream education due to adverse experiences. As part of our team, you will play a vital role in providing predictable structure, clear boundaries, and trauma-informed support, enabling students to re-engage with learning and achieve meaningful progress in science. What the role involves: Delivering engaging and accessible KS3 and KS4 Science lessons Supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs Using trauma-informed and relational approaches to behaviour Creating a calm, consistent learning environment Working closely with pastoral teams, therapists, and support staff Celebrating small steps of progress that make a big difference We are looking for someone who: Is a qualified Science Teacher (QTS is required) Has experience supporting students with behavioural or SEMH needs, or a strong interest in this area Understands that behaviour is often communication linked to trauma Is patient, reflective, and resilient Can balance high expectations with compassion Values teamwork and restorative practice In return, we offer: A supportive and reflective staff team A setting where relationships come first Opportunities for training in trauma-informed practice The chance to make a genuine, lasting difference to young people’s lives Opportunity for permanent employment If you are a teacher who believes that every young person deserves another chance to succeed, we would love to hear from you. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position.
