The Role
As the Material Planning and Inventory Manager, you will:
* Align demand planning with manufacturing, marketing, and material planning to meet customer requirements.
* Lead and manage a team of supply chain professionals, conducting performance reviews and supporting career development.
* Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure accurate demand forecasts and production schedules.
* Resolve conflicts between supply constraints and customer expectations through proactive planning.
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance compliance, reduce errors, and increase efficiency.
* Lead change management initiatives for new systems and procedures.
* Define and maintain optimal inventory levels in collaboration with supply chain and finance teams.
* Monitor inventory health using KPIs and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.
* Improve forecast accuracy by analysing data and market trends to minimise excess and obsolete inventory.
The Person
To excel in this role, you will have:
* Proven experience in material planning and inventory management within the manufacturing industry.
* Strong understanding of supply chain components and their impact on operations.
* Experience in resolving obstacles to meet production schedules and removing material flow barriers.
* Tactical and strategic planning skills to adapt to changing demands and supply constraints.
* Expertise in identifying bottlenecks in the material planning cycle and implementing solutions.
* Strong decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
* Experience managing a team of supply chain professionals.
