What will you be doing?
Work as part of a team in providing corporate finance advice including lead advisory, fund raising and strategic advice.
As Corporate Finance Assistant Manager, your responsibilities will include among others
* Plan projects and move them forward in a timely manner including anticipating next steps and communicating plan to manager. This includes keeping lists of outstanding issues and owning the process of ensuring they are delivered
* Analysing and synthesising data for senior managers including financial and sector data
* Liaise and build relationships with Oaklins, with internal S&W team members, and third parties such as private equity to begin to create a network
* Work with other team members to deliver assigned project work and exceed client expectations
* Create and review financial models, and prepare reports
* Prepare and support presentations given by CFD senior colleagues
* Liaise directly with clients and manage effectively the process of gathering data as required
* Prepare key documents (e.g. Information Memoranda, confidentiality letters, buyers research lists, sector analysis etc) and maintain ownership of successive drafts
* Take full ownership of all delegated or assigned tasks
* Keep team leader and team manager fully informed of progress and status of assigned work
* Anticipate problems and client needs and assist in developing responses within the team
* Ensure that own training and development needs are discussed with the Team Manager, and plans agreed to meet them
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have
* Knowledge of Companies Acts, Financial Reporting Standards and M&A Best Practice
* Sources of information for research including use of Capital IQ and Merger market Required
* Basic knowledge of the structure of a deal and associated commercial and technical issues
* Financial Modelling - clear understanding of financial models and their context and impact.
* Ability to apply financial principles to financial models.
* Analysis and interpretation of financial information
* Report writing – drafting reports for review.
* Advanced use of MS Excel and PowerPoint.
* Confident and enthusiastic in dealings with both clients and within the department.
* Willing to take responsibility for getting the job done within agreed deadlines.
* Ability to build own personal network
* Corporate Finance experience is highly desirable
Professional Qualifications and Education
* Graduate and professionally qualified whether ICAEW or equivalent
* ACA/ACCA qualified
