Overview
Join the established liaison psychiatry emergency department team as a permanent, full-time Clinical Nurse Specialist / Mental Health Professional. The role sits within CPFT's PLAN-accredited core24 service, delivering fast-paced, 24/7 input in the Emergency Department with high-calibre assessments, formulations and care plans, and providing expert opinion into the care of individuals in the ED.
Responsibilities
* As part of the Liaison Psychiatry Service, contribute to the multidisciplinary clinical assessment and management of patients referred to the service in collaboration with other team members.
* Provide timely biopsychosocial assessments and risk management plans in accordance with CPFT’s Clinical Risk Assessment and Management policy for adults presenting to the Acute Trust with mental health problems.
* Work within the PLAN-accredited core24 service to deliver 24/7 input to patients in the Emergency Department.
* Support the expansion of the core24 service to improve quicker access to individuals across the hospital out of hours.
* Be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses and occupational therapists.
* Deliver exceptional standards of care for patients attending Cambridge University Hospital with comorbid mental health issues.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Senior experienced band 6 or 7 in a role with a background in acute care, providing assessments and crisis work.
* Excellent assessment and communication skills; ability to work well under pressure.
* Experience in emergency department liaison psychiatry is desirable.
