HGV Planner (Night Shift) - South Normanton
Are you a meticulous and proactive logistics professional with a knack for planning? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, night-time environment? We're looking for a dedicated HGV Planner on behalf of our client in South Normanton.
Hours: Sunday - Thursday, 22:00 - 06:00
Salary: £37,870 per annum
The Role:
This is a temp to perm role, you'll be instrumental in ensuring the efficient and timely distribution of goods. Working through the night, you'll be responsible for optimising routes, managing driver schedules, and reacting to any unforeseen challenges to keep our fleet moving smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
* Planning and optimising HGV routes for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
* Allocating vehicles and trailers to meet delivery schedules.
* Monitoring driver performance and adherence to routes.
* Communicating effectively with drivers, clients, and internal teams.
* Troubleshooting and resolving any issues that may arise during shifts.
* Ensuring compliance with all relevant transport regulations.
* Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
About You:
Proven experience in HGV planning or a similar logistics role.
* Strong geographical knowledge and an understanding of road networks.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
* Proficient in using planning software and transport management systems.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
* A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
* Familiarity with driver’s hours regulations and WTD (Working Time Directive).
