Are you an Occupational Therapist passionate about improving independence, accessibility and quality of life? Do you want to use your specialist skills to make a real difference in people’s homes and communities? We’re looking for a dedicated Housing Occupational Therapist to join our Home Improvement Agency (HIA) – a service committed to helping residents live safely and independently at home.
What will you be doing?
* Complete specialist OT adaptation and housing assessments in people’s homes and create and progress adaptations including specifications based on needs.
* Advise on complex cases, housing options, and Disabled Facilities Grant recommendations.
* Evaluate properties for suitability, adaptations or rehousing.
* Work collaboratively with Housing Solutions, landlords, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
* Oversee and review adaptation cases using Mosaic and related systems.
* Support service development, policies and best practice in housing and adaptations.
* Supervise OT/AEO staff and support the development of apprentices or students.
* Promote independence, prevent escalation of care needs and enhance the customer journey.
About You
* A qualified Occupational Therapist (BSc OT or equivalent).
* Experienced in community OT practice and/or home adaptations (or able to demonstrate transferable skills).
* Skilled in functional assessment, problem‑solving and collaborative working.
* Confident in managing complex cases with creativity, sensitivity and professionalism.
* Knowledgeable about housing and social care legislation (e.g., Care Act, DFG criteria).
* An excellent communicator with strong organisational and recording skills.
