Corporate Tax Manager - Major Accountancy Firm

Key ResponsibilitiesComplex Tax Advisory & Compliance
* Lead corporation tax compliance for a diverse portfolio including multinational corporations, listed companies, and complex group structures
* Provide high-level strategic tax advice on mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, and corporate finance transactions
* Manage complex cross-border tax issues including transfer pricing, permanent establishment, and international tax planning
* Advise on corporate tax implications of commercial arrangements and business models
* Handle sophisticated tax computations including derivative contracts, loan relationships, and complex group relief scenarios
Client Portfolio Management
* Manage relationships with blue-chip clients across sectors including financial services, technology, manufacturing, retail, and energy
* Lead client meetings and presentations at board and C-suite level
* Coordinate with international tax teams on multinational client matters
* Provide real-time tax advice on urgent commercial transactions and time-sensitive opportunities
* Develop tax strategies aligned with clients' business objectives and risk appetite
Technical Leadership & Innovation
* Stay at the cutting edge of tax legislation and policy developments
* Contribute to thought leadership publications and technical guidance
* Represent the firm at professional conferences and client seminars
* Participate in technical committees and working groups with professional bodies
* Drive innovation in tax technology and digital transformation initiatives
Team Leadership & Development
* Lead and mentor teams of tax professionals on complex engagements
* Provide technical training and development to junior staff
* Supervise and review work across multiple client portfolios
* Contribute to recruitment and talent development initiatives
* Foster collaborative working relationships across service lines
Business Development
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing client relationships
* Support proposal preparation and client pitches for major tax projects
* Build and maintain networks within the professional community
* Represent the firm at industry events and networking functions
Essential RequirementsQualifications & Experience
* ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualification with significant post-qualification experience
* Minimum 6-8 years of corporate tax experience in a top-tier practice environment
* Proven track record of managing complex, high-value client relationships
* Experience with international tax matters and cross-border transactions
* Strong knowledge of UK and international tax legislation
* Experience with large corporate clients and group structures
