Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: ElySalary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
We are currently recruiting for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Ely. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically and mechanically skilled engineer looking for a stable role within a fast-paced production environment.
You must live within a commutable distance to Ely and be comfortable working a double days rotating shift pattern.
The Role
As a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving site machinery performance, responding to breakdowns, and carrying out planned preventative maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
* Fault finding and repair on electrical and mechanical systems
* Maintenance of high-speed production machinery
* Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdowns
* Electrical work including 3-phase motors, inverters, sensors, and control panels
* Mechanical work including bearings, chains, belts, gearboxes, pneumatics, and hydraulics
* PLC fault diagnosis (Siemens, Allen-Bradley or similar)
Experience & Skills Required
* Experience in FMCG or high-speed manufacturing environments (preferred)
* Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
* Working knowledge of PLC systems for diagnostics
* Experience maintaining die cutters, folder gluers, printers, stackers, or conveyors (advantageous)
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and PLC diagrams
Qualifications
* Time-served apprenticeship in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering
* Relevant qualification: NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / BTEC (or equivalent)
* 18th Edition or equivalent electrical certification (desirable)
Salary & Benefits
* £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
* Double Days - Rotating Shift Pattern
o Week 1:
+ Mon-Thu:06:00 - 14:00
+ Fri:05:00 - 12:00
o Week 2:
+ Mon-Thu:14:00 - 22:00
+ Fri:12:00 - 19:00
* 40 Hours a Week
* 2 × 15-minute breaks per shift
