About the Role:
Academics Ltd is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Individual Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support at a primary school in Cheltenham. This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a child's learning and development within a supportive and inclusive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide personalised 1:1 support to meet the child's individual learning, social, and emotional needs.
* Assist with alternative communication methods such as BSL, Makaton, or other AAC tools to support communication and engagement.
* Implement strategies in line with the child's Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) to promote learning and development.
* Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to adapt learning activities and create a supportive classroom environment.
* Encourage independence while providing guidance, reassurance, and emotional support.
* Monitor progress, document observations, and provide feedback to staff and parents as needed.
* Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
