Locum Obstetric & Gynaecology Consultant
Applications are invited for a fixed-term locum Consultant post in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Buckinghamshire Hospitals NHS Trust, based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. The post comprises 10 PAs with non-resident on-call duties.
We seek a motivated and committed individual to join our supportive and forward-thinking Obstetrics and Gynaecology team. The successful candidate should demonstrate broad experience in both Obstetrics and General Gynaecology.
The post holder will support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care that meets the needs of women and their families. Flexibility in supporting service delivery is desirable.
The successful applicant will work at both Stoke Mandeville Hospital (SMH) and Wycombe Hospital (WH).
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be expected to:
* Provide high-quality, patient-centred, Consultant-led obstetrics and gynaecology services.
* Deliver a range of clinical services across both obstetrics and gynaecology, including labour ward cover, antenatal clinics, emergency gynaecology, outpatient clinics, and surgical sessions.
* Be involved in teaching and training medical staff within the Department, working closely with the RCOG College Tutor.
* Participate in the induction programme for resident staff, GP training, and medical student teaching as required.
* Assist in the recruitment of resident medical staff.
* Ensure proper delegation and training of resident medical and nursing staff.
* Participate in the Consultant on-call rota with internal cover.
* Undertake administrative and managerial duties, including attending departmental meetings.
* Engage in consultant appraisal, audits, and academic events.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Skills
* Full GMC registration
* MRCOG or equivalent
* CCT in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, on GMC's Specialist Register, or expecting CCT within six months
* ATSM in Labour Ward Practice, Maternal Medicine, and Medical Education
Clinical Experience and Effectiveness
* UK-equivalent obstetrics and gynaecology training and experience
* Relevant training and experience, including specialist interests
* Experience in simulation or medical education
