Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Location: The Shires – Stretton, Rutland, East Midlands LE15 7GT
Salary: up to £53,200 DOE
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Contract: Permanent (52 weeks; term‑time contract flexibility may be discussed based on personal circumstances)
The role
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our in‑house clinical team at The Shires – Stretton. Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver bespoke occupational therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will hold an occupational therapy caseload, supported by a designated clinical supervisor and Lead Clinician.
Responsibilities
* Deliver OT assessment and intervention in an education setting in line with the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working.
* Support pupils with developmental trauma, neurodivergence or SEMH needs, fostering independence.
* Work within a multidisciplinary clinical team, maintaining a person‑centred, safeguarding culture.
* Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
Essential Criteria
* Recognised Occupational Therapy degree
* Valid and up‑to‑date HCPC Registration
* Registered member of RCOT
* Relevant experience providing OT services within a similar setting (preferred)
* Experience working with neurodivergent individuals and/or learning difficulties and/or socio‑emotional and mental health difficulties, with transferable skills evidence
* Sound knowledge and clinical understanding of OT theory and its practical application to support independence
* Experience of multi‑professional work with teams or services within the designated speciality (preferred)
* Ability to work independently, flexibly and confidently in a school environment
* Clear and concise report writing skills
* Interest in sensory integration or sensory‑informed practice (SI practitioner training in progress or completed is preferred but not essential)
