About The Role
Position: Drainage Engineer
Location: Kidlington Depot, Thames Valley Region, Kidlington, Oxfordshire
Job Type: permanent, full-time
Hours: 4 days on 4 days off, 40.25 hours
Salary: OTE £34,000 per annum (made up of basic pay, overtime, on call allowance and bonuses)

We operate 24/7 and you may be required to work flexible hours, weekends and participate in an on-call rota. Full training, PPE and use of company equipment will be provided to ensure that all drainage engineers have the right tools, competency and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes’ high standard of operation regardless of background or previous experience.
About the role: We are looking for customer-focused people to join our Utility Division, working on our Thames Water contract to deliver practical solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems.
Responsibilities
* Travelling to residential sites via HGV in a two-person team, around the region, operating a high-pressure water jet for restoration.
* Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems.
* Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided.
* Run diagnostics and repairs on drains.
* Delivering good customer service.
* Maintain good health & safety practices during works.
* Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished.
* Comply with health and safety responsibilities (PPE, safe site setups) to protect employees, the public and other road users.
* Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.
* Liaise with the client regarding progress and updates.
* Ability to work unsupervised in all weather conditions using correct PPE and lone worker system.
* Risk assess site access and working conditions on arrival.
* Provide support to colleagues.
* Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before/after use.
* Report any defects or malfunctions related to training.
* Carry out risk assessments and maintain a mature approach to risk perception.
* Be aware of Lanes Group policies and responsibilities towards them.
* Perform any other reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by management.
What is essential is the ability to work safely to diagnose and deliver practical and efficient solutions to attain the highest levels of customer satisfaction. Full training is provided.
About You
The ideal candidate will be hard-working and respectful and comply with health and safety standards. Experience in the use of High Pressure Jetting equipment is useful but not essential. Other drainage qualifications (e.g. NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are advantageous.
