Join to apply for the Band 6 Paediatric Allergy Dietitian role at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust
Due to a retirement, we are looking for a new Band 6 Paediatric Specialist Allergy Dietitian. This is a part‑time post of 22.5 hours per week, with the option to spread the hours across three or four days. The post is based in the Paediatric Dietetic team at Royal Blackburn Hospital but covers the localities of East Lancashire.
Responsibilities
* Support the Paediatric allergy caseload, including cow’s milk protein, specific and non‑specific allergy and Coeliac Disease.
* Provide care in outpatient clinics, group education, and MDT clinics.
* Cover general Paediatric clinics across East Lancashire localities to develop or maintain general paediatric skills.
* Clinically supervise Band 5 Rotational Dietitians and Dietetic Assistants.
* Support Paediatric team leaders in developing and evolving the Paediatric Dietetic team and service, including guidance, training and policies for the Trust.
Team and Support
* The Paediatric team comprises two Clinical Lead Dietitians, six Specialist Dietitians (each with their own specialty), two Band 5 Rotational Dietitians, one Dietetic Assistant Practitioner and two Dietetic Assistants, supported by a dedicated clinical support worker team for admin tasks.
* The team uses EMIS for outpatient records and Cerner for inpatient records, with good access to IT equipment.
* Regular clinical supervision and learning are integral to team practice.
