Overview
Children and Family Health Devon is a system-wide service that delivers an integrated, coordinated support model which wraps around the child, young person and family. It has been designed to respond to all elements of the commissioner’s strategy and specification along with the vision and strategic direction of the Integrated Care System for Devon. It builds on our strong relationships across education, health, social care and voluntary sector services in Devon, and, most importantly, it has been developed and refined in partnership with children, young people and their families/carers.
This role will contribute a range of psychological services to the clients of Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD), under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist within the Specialist Learning Disability Service.
You will be required to communicate with children and young people across the age range from infancy to 18 years to support the delivery of mental health and well-being assessments and interventions.
This work is subject to weekly clinical supervision and management by the responsible qualified psychologist.
You will promote good working relationships with all staff and clients in assigned areas of work.
The post is advertised with a base in Exeter however we have multiple bases across Devon which could be considered for the successful applicant.
Responsibilities
* Contribute a range of psychological services to the clients of the Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD), under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist.
* Undertake psychological screening, assessment and interventions with children and their parents/carers presenting with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties; this will include producing reports, direct and indirect individual and group work.
* Work independently to an appropriate level, under supervision and abiding by the professional guidelines and code of conduct for registered Clinical Psychologists.
* Support research activity including audit, service evaluation, literature reviews and research as required and in agreement with the Clinical Psychology Lead and managers of the service.
* The post-holder is responsible for his/her own workload, but is expected to engage with regular supervision from a qualified Clinical Psychologist and review through the management process.
