Design Engineer
Location: Redditch | Salary: £34,000 | Employment type: Permanent | Work schedule: 4‑Day Week (Mon‑Thu) | Friendly, supportive team in a well‑established manufacturing company with a large product range and long‑term prospects.
Commutable from Solihull, Redditch, Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Stratford‑Upon‑Avon, Alcester, Bidford‑on‑Avon, Worcester, Pershore, Alvechurch, Henley‑in‑Arden, Shirely and Halesowen.
Duties
* Design and develop new product concepts through to final production designs
* Modify and improve existing products as directed by the Engineering Manager
* Liaise with customers and suppliers to support product development
* Provide initial design concepts to support the Sales team
* Work closely with Production to ensure efficient assembly and manufacture
* Contribute to cost‑reduction initiatives and engineering improvement projects
What We’re Looking For
* Experience using 2D and 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
* Basic understanding of GD&T
* Ability to carry out tolerance stack calculations
* Some exposure of working within a manufacturing environment
* Ability to work to deadlines and manage time effectively
