What you’ll be doing:
1. Deliver an independent review of the cost and performance of the project or group of projects, providing sound financial support and advice, maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers, and evaluating processes to ensure robust financial controls.
2. Deliver value-adding, robust financial service to the project team.
3. Deliver accurate and consistent project reporting information to meet the needs of the project team and finance management within the required timescales, including preparation of Summary Status Reports and Contact Status Reports.
4. Monitor financial performance, providing independent financial challenge.
5. Reconcile financial reports to source ledgers to ensure data integrity.
6. Review and improve processes and procedures to meet financial control requirements.
7. Make decisions that significantly impact project performance.
8. Coach non-finance employees on related matters.
Your skills and experience:
* Project Lifecycle Management (LCM) Process
* Business Systems experience (SAP/BPC)
* Finance Governance requirements including financial control framework
* Knowledge of MoD Accounting/Contracting requirements (desirable)

The S&T team (Products):
The Simulation & Training team develops, deploys, and supports complex simulators and training solutions, enabling customers to maximize operational advantage and develop next-generation products and platforms.
As part of this team, you will serve as the project finance point of contact, working closely with the finance business partner and project teams within Maritime Services Products, managing and delivering a portfolio of contracts and bids for domestic customers in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
