If you have experience in assessing and designing highway maintenance projects, the Asset Management Delivery Team could be the ideal place for you. We are looking for two Highway Asset Officer to join our team.
Role Overview:
The Highway Asset Officer role forms part of a team responsible for designing and delivering the ongoing maintenance of Devon’s highway assets.
Support and Development:

Team and Collaboration:
You will be part of the Asset Management Team, a department of over 60 passionate Engineers, Technicians and Designers dedicated to delivering high quality highway maintenance projects. You will work within a team of approximately six people, supported by a Principal Engineer, and collaborate closely with colleagues from Neighbourhood Highways, Environment, the Materials Laboratory and Traffic Management Group.
The Asset Management Team works on a diverse range of projects; therefore the key aspects of the role include:
1. Designing and pricing highway maintenance schemes, including, but not limited to, drainage, patching, resurfacing and footway works using Term Maintenance and Framework Contracts.
2. Engaging with contractors and stakeholders to support the planning and delivery of highway maintenance schemes.
3. Working alongside other Devon County Council teams to understand community needs when planning and delivering schemes.
4. Auditing highway maintenance schemes, including identifying and resolving any remedial works required.
5. Reviewing, managing and approving payments for highway maintenance schemes.
6. Applying a working knowledge of relevant highway policies and procedures, while maintaining awareness of technical developments and best practice.

Where will I be based?
Hybrid working is available to all. Our main depot is in Exeter, and travel across the county is required to meet the needs of the Authority. Options to work from satellite depots or offices can be discussed.
