As well as this, you'll also gain an Honours Degree in Environmental Science. This will be studied in partnership with Kingston University, which will require attendance at Kingston University 1 day per week. With many of our colleagues starting as apprentices you'll receive full support and guidance from everyone throughout. By the end of your apprenticeship, you'll have received industry-standard training and attained qualifications that will enable you to progress and reach your full potential. What you'll be doing; You will be working with the Landfill Technical Operations Department, which has a responsibility to oversee the environmental compliance and technical operations associated with Veolia's UK portfolio of closed and operational landfill sites. More specifically you will be working within the landfill gas team which looks to install and operate systems to minimise the emissions of methane from our landfill sites and also optimise the capture of landfill gas to generate renewable power. This is a small team of engineers and environmental scientists and you will have exposure to a wide variety of site and desk based activities. You will be primarily based at one of our largest landfill sites at Pitsea in Essex but will require occassional travel to other sites within the southern region or the wider UK business. What we're looking for; A minimum of 3 A levels, at grade C (achieved or predicted), with at least 1 in a science based discipline. Some outdoor working will be necessary in this role along with desk based tasks. You will require a full UK driving licence to enable travel to sites, when required. What's next?
