Overview
We are searching for confident and composed Relief Support Workers in the Durham region to deliver person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities, complex needs, and challenging behaviours. This role offers an opportunity to help service users access a wide variety of personal development opportunities.
Patience and adaptability are essential, as each service user has unique communication styles and ways of expressing their needs. Since our Durham services operate 24 hours a day, you must be prepared to cover a variety of shifts, including weekends, evenings, and bank holidays.
Responsibilities
* Provide person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities, complex needs, and challenging behaviours.
* Follow agreed guidelines and contribute positively to a supportive team environment.
* Develop confidence as a skilled practitioner within a positive behaviour support framework.
* Assist service users to access a wide variety of personal development opportunities.
Qualifications
* 12 months prior experience as a Relief Support Worker is required.
* Excellent communication and engagement skills; unconditional positive regard for the people we support.
* Maturity to work within a positive behaviour support framework; ability to take on responsibility.
* Willingness to work across a range of shifts; flexibility in weekends/evenings/bank holidays.
