Location: Falkirk (with site travel as required)
Direct Reports: Project Coordinators / Trainees (as applicable)
Role Purpose
To lead the delivery of allocated projects from contract award through to completion. The Project Manager is accountable for scope, programme, cost, quality, and client interface, ensuring each project is delivered safely, profitably, and to AIM Group standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the Single Point of Accountability (SPA) for allocated projects.
* Develop project programmes, monitor progress, and drive recovery actions.
* Lead internal coordination meetings across design, fabrication, coatings, QA, and logistics.
* Represent AIM to clients, manage RFIs, variations, and programme updates.
* Liaise with QS/commercial to support cost tracking, valuations, and account close-outs.
* Review drawings (Tekla, IFC), identify design risks, and manage approvals.
* Align workshop priorities with programme targets and resolve blockers.
* Coordinate coatings and delivery logistics, including lifting plans.
* Ensure quality documentation (ITPs, RAMS) and site safety standards are upheld.
* Submit weekly/monthly reports and maintain performance dashboards.
* Contribute to ERP improvements and process automation.
* Mentor junior staff and support department succession planning.

* On-time, in-budget delivery of allocated projects
* Accuracy and timeliness of programme and reporting data
* Stakeholder feedback (internal and external)
* Commercial recovery and rework/NCR rates

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
* 10+ years of experience specifically within the structural steel industry
* 5+ years in project management within fabrication/construction/engineering
* Strong knowledge of planning, QA, and production workflows
* Confident communicator and cross-functional coordinator
