An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Business Partner to join a well-established organisation operating within a fast-paced, project-led environment.
Your new role
This role is key to supporting financial performance across multiple contracts, working closely with operational teams and senior stakeholders. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial insight, ensuring robust financial controls, and contributing to business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Management Accounting & Business Partnering
2. Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts within tight reporting deadlines
3. Post journals, accruals, and prepayments, ensuring accuracy across cost centres and codes
4. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
5. Deliver performance reporting, including variance analysis against budgets and forecasts
6. Partner with operational teams to review contract performance and identify improvements
7. Monitor project/job performance, ensuring accurate cost allocation and profitability reporting
8. Support budgeting and forecasting processes
Reporting &pliance
9. Prepare group reporting submissions and support consolidated reporting processes
10. Manage intepany reconciliations and reporting
11. Submit VAT returns in line with regulatory deadlines
12. Ensurepliance with financial procedures and controls
Accounts Payable Oversight
13. Maintain supplier records and ensure proper onboarding processes
14. Process purchase orders, invoices, and expense claims
15. Manage weekly payment runs and bank postings
Systems & Process Improvement
16. Support effective use of finance systems and drive process improvements
17. Work collaboratively with internal teams to enhance reporting and efficiency
What you'll need to succeed
Essential
18. AAT Level 4 qualified (or equivalent)
19. Strong organisational and analytical skills
20. Excellentmunication skills, both written and verbal
21. High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information
22. Strong IT skills, particularly Excel and Microsoft Office
23. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
24. Full UK driving licence and access to transport (site-based role)
Desirable
25. Studying towards a professional qualification ( CIMA/ACCA)
26. Experience in project or contract accounting
27. Knowledge of ERP systems ( Business Central/Navision)
28. Exposure to payroll processes and taxpliance
