EMC Proving Engineer
You will take ownership of proving advanced defence systems through complex electromagnetic environments, ensuring they perform reliably under extreme conditions. This is a hands-on role where you shape how critical systems are tested and validated from early trials through to formal certification.
What you will need
* Experience in EMC, RF, electronics or closely related engineering environments
* Hands-on background in testing, validation or proving of complex systems
* Understanding of electromagnetic compatibility principles and test methods
* Experience working with technical stakeholders in controlled test environments
Rewards
£50,000 circa depending on experience
What you will work on
• Designing and developing test setups to support EMC and RF proving activities
• Leading readiness activities ensuring test equipment, safety and documentation are in place
• Coordinating hardware, software and facilities for structured test campaigns
• Running hands-on trials within specialist EMC chambers and test environments
• Capturing and analysing detailed test data to support system verification
• Producing formal technical reports to support certification and qualification
Skills and experience
• Strong understanding of EMC behaviour, emissions and susceptibility
• Practical experience working with test equipment in structured engineering environments
• Ability to interpret and analyse complex technical data sets
• Methodical approach to planning and executing technical trials
• Strong communication skills with engineers and technical stakeholders
• Problem solving mindset with a focus on practical engineering outcomes

Where you will work
Bristol with hybrid working, typically four to five days per week on site due to the nature of testing activities, with occasional travel to other UK locations.
