(SC is a small, local charity supporting children and young people (up to 18) across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire who have experienced a significant loss or bereavement.
We're looking for a
Treasurer Trustee (Volunteer)
to join our friendly Board and strengthen our financial oversight and governance.
What you'll bring and why it matters:
You'll help the Board understand our financial position through clear updates, and support budgeting, monitoring, and financial decision-making. You'll also help ensure robust financial controls are in place, so we remain financially sustainable and well-governed in line with our mission and values.
What the role involves:
You'll contribute to proportionate, practical oversight of charity finances, helping the charity plan confidently around expected income, expenditure, and financial risks. You'll work collaboratively with trustees from a range of backgrounds, supporting good records and transparent reporting that fits a small charity.
Time commitment:
We hold 10 evening trustee board meetings per year, in person or online. There are also optional opportunities to attend events, fundraising, and relevant training, depending on your availability and interest.
Who we'd love to hear from:
Applicants from varied professional and personal backgrounds, especially those with finance knowledge from accountancy, finance, charity finance, budgeting, banking, audit, or business management. If you're looking to build board-level experience while making a real difference locally, we'd like to hear from you.
