The UK team is expanding as part of a global group backed by EDF Group and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
Location: United Kingdom. This role involves working on outages, international deployments and compliance with HSE standards within a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
* Support refuelling and maintenance outages, including reactor loading and unloading activities.
* Operate specialised fuel handling equipment and machinery to move, install and remove nuclear fuel assemblies.
* Perform routine equipment checks, preventive maintenance, and report defects or abnormalities.
* Collaborate with engineering, operations and radiation protection teams to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
* Participate in ongoing training, including specialised training courses overseas.
* Adhere to procedures, quality procedures and assist with quality records and documentation.
* Maintain equipment and small tools for assembly/calibration; perform leak detection, pressure testing and integrity assessments of Nuclear Steam Supply Systems (NSSS).
Detailed QHSE Responsibilities
* Never undertake work without ensuring safe and compliant means are in place.
* Be familiar with Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Permit to Work.
* Attend HSE training, meetings, toolbox talks and related activities.
* Ensure tools, equipment and materials brought into and used in the area are checked and compliant with HSE requirements.
* Ensure all work is supported by relevant Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Work Permits.
* Report incidents and near misses.
Qualifications & Experience
* NVQ Level 3 or above in a relevant mechanical qualification.
* Proven experience in a heavy mechanical industry.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow complex technical procedures.
* Excellent safety record and understanding of HSE regulations.
* Ability to work in a highly regulated and procedural environment.
* Ability to read and understand detailed engineering drawings.
Desirable
* Nuclear experience is not essential for this role.
* Experience in skilled, controlled manipulations of small objects and torquing techniques/processes.
* Experience with testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning processes.
* Previous rigging experience and qualification.
* Experience with static and rotating equipment.
