Gateshead Fertility has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Embryologist to join our established team on a fixed-term basis.
We provide a range of fertility treatments to patients in the North East and North Cumbria, renowned for our compassionate care and excellent outcomes. Our Embryology team plays a significant role in service development and maintains high patient contact.
This NHS fertility unit caters to a diverse patient base, with a multi-disciplinary team sharing a common vision that drives our success.
Main duties of the job
The Applicant Should Have:
* BSc degree in appropriate biological science
* HCPC Registration as a Clinical Scientist
* ICSI micromanipulation skills
* Minimum 2 Years Relevant Practical Experience
* Evidence of personal/professional development
* Ability to pursue and direct basic scientific investigations
* Highly developed communication, interpersonal and influencing skills

Job Responsibilities
Duties of Senior Embryologist:
* Perform laboratory duties including semen analysis, sperm preparation, oocyte retrieval, insemination, ICSI micromanipulation, embryo assessment, culture, transfer, cryopreservation, and maintenance.
* Manage laboratory workload independently within guidelines.
* Educate trainees, junior staff, and students.
* Communicate complex information to patients and obtain legal consent.
* Train and mentor junior staff.
* Implement and revise policies and procedures.
* Record treatments and outcomes, maintain databases, and compile reports.
* Conduct equipment testing and quality audits.
* Participate in equipment evaluation and maintenance.
* Handle private patient invoicing and out-of-hours on-call duties.

Qualifications
* Essential: HPCP registration, STP graduate, Embryologist experience
* Desirable: ICSI trained
