Conveyancing Assistant – York I am working in partnership with a well-regarded regional law firm that is looking to recruit an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to join its established residential property team in York. This is a full-time, office-based role, ideal for someone with at least 12 months' experience supporting a busy conveyancing team, particularly with residential sales and purchases. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and professional legal support specialist who thrives in a client-focused, fast-paced environment. You will work closely with solicitors and fee earners on a high-volume caseload, playing a key role in ensuring the conveyancing process runs smoothly for clients from start to finish. Key Responsibilities: Opening new client files and accurately inputting data into the case management system Drafting initial correspondence and legal documentation, including issuing contracts on sale files Progressing transactions in line with internal procedures and service standards Ordering property searches and assisting with the preparation of client reports Supporting exchanges, completions and handling post-completion matters Liaising with clients, estate agents and other solicitors by phone and email Managing incoming and outgoing post Providing general administrative support including filing, billing and archiving What We're Looking For: A minimum of 12 months’ experience in a conveyancing assistant or similar legal support role Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail Confident and accurate communication skills, both written and verbal Competence with IT systems and case management software Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively under pressure A professional, friendly and client-focused approach Ability to work both independently and as part of a team A proactive attitude with a willingness to take initiative Why Join This Firm?
