SUMMARY
Gozney is looking for a Design Lead to lead the design function within our in-house creative studio. This is a senior role for someone who combines strong design instincts with operational excellence. You will be responsible for shaping how the design team works day to day - setting the standard for output, improving workflow, building scalable systems, and ensuring high-quality creative is delivered consistently across campaigns, launches, digital, retail, CRM, social, paid and packaging.
You will bring structure to a fast-moving creative environment, helping the business move at pace without losing brand consistency or craft. From briefing and prioritisation through to templates, toolkits, handoffs and team development, you will play a central role in building a design function that can scale with the ambition of the brand.
Working closely with Creative, Content, Social, E-commerce, CRM, Product Marketing and external partners, you will ensure Gozney shows up with clarity, quality and consistency across every touchpoint.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design Function Leadership
* Lead the day-to-day running of the design function within Gozney Creative Studio
* Set and maintain a high standard of design quality across all brand touchpoints
* Build clear processes and working rhythms that help the design team operate effectively
* Lead reviews and critiques, providing direct and actionable feedback that improves work and reduces rework
* Create clarity around priorities, ownership and delivery across multiple concurrent projects
Systems, Toolkits & Scalability
* Build and maintain templates, component libraries, toolkits and design systems that make the brand easier to execute at scale
* Ensure campaigns and creative ideas can be translated coherently across paid, social, web, CRM, retail and packaging
* Improve design operations, including briefing inputs, version control, file organisation, naming conventions and handoff quality
* Create systems that support speed, consistency and premium execution without unnecessary complexity
* Help future-proof the design team by building repeatable ways of working
Cross-Functional Delivery
* Partner closely with Content, Social, E-commerce, CRM, Channel Marketing and Product teams to align creative ambition with business needs
* Translate stakeholder goals into clear design direction, balancing quality with production realities and timelines
* Ensure design output is fit for channel while still feeling cohesive and on-brand
* Manage and brief external freelancers, agencies or support partners where needed
* Act as a key bridge between brand thinking and production delivery
Team Leadership & Development
* Lead, mentor and develop designers, helping raise both craft and capability across the team
* Set expectations and create a culture of clear ownership, strong collaboration and high standards
* Support hiring and onboarding as the design function grows
* Help shape the structure of the wider design team as Gozney Creative Dept. evolves
* Foster a low-ego, ambitious environment where the work is the priority and quality matters
Creative Contribution
* Stay connected to design, culture, fashion, photography, product and visual trends, bringing relevant ideas back into the business
* Contribute to major launches and campaign rollouts, ensuring the creative system is strong from concept through execution
* Partner with senior creative leadership to evolve Gozney’s overall visual standard
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
* 7–10+ years’ experience in design, brand systems or creative roles within a premium brand, agency or in-house studio
* Strong portfolio showing excellent craft, taste and multi-channel brand execution
* Proven experience leading designers or managing design output across multiple projects simultaneously
* Strong experience building scalable design systems, templates, toolkits and production-ready assets
* Deep understanding of typography, layout, hierarchy, brand consistency and execution detail
* Strong organisational and operational instincts, with the ability to improve process as well as creative output
* Confident working cross-functionally and balancing stakeholder needs with creative quality
* Clear communicator who can present work, defend decisions and bring structure to ambiguity
* A player-coach mindset: strategic enough to lead, practical enough to get into the work
* Calm, detail-oriented and comfortable in a fast-moving environment
IDEALLY, YOU’LL ALSO HAVE
* Experience helping build or evolve an in-house & off-shore design team
* Experience working with freelance, external or offshore design support
* Experience across campaign rollout, digital, paid, CRM, retail and packaging
* A strong instinct for how to maintain brand quality while increasing output volume
* Familiarity with how modern creative teams operate across both brand and performance needs
