Salary: £12.29 – £13.94 per hour (rate dependent on qualification and experience)
About Budwood / Polaris Community
Budwood, part of Polaris Community, provides residential care and support to children and young adults with emotional behavioural difficulties and mental health needs. We aim to provide a stable, supportive home and help young people learn skills for successful independence.
Main Duties And Requirements
* Experience of working with children and young people and understanding the issues they face in care
* Flexibility to cover sickness, annual leave, a range of hours/shifts, and sleep-in shifts as needed
* Promoting, safeguarding and protecting the welfare of young people
* Establishing and maintaining positive, trusting relationships with young people
* Work well as part of a team and respond to direction and guidance
* Encourage the development of the individual interests of young people
* Hold or be willing to work towards relevant qualifications (Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People\'s Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent; upgrade to Level 4 diploma desirable but not essential)
* Hold a full UK driving licence and car (travel may be required)
* Excellent communication and listening skills; willingness to learn
* Ability to work in a small team
* Be willing to undertake a DBS check at enhanced level (paid for by Budwood)
* Experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work or Youth Work is advantageous
