About the role

You will be responsible for the smooth running of the Reception environment. Key aspects of the post involve To deal with all initial front of house customer issues, conveying a caring attitude to all users of the centre and to assist in the provision of the Centre administrative. The Receptionist will work as a member of the Team within an operational sporting facility environment. There will be extensive contact with members of the public and ensuring a high level of customer care is achieved.

Job Description

Job Purpose

11. To deal with all initial front of house customer issues, conveying a caring attitude to all users of the centre and to assist in the provision of the Centre’s administrative support.

Responsibilities

12. To take bookings made over the telephone and in person at reception.
13. To process payments for bookings in accordance with the City Council’s Financial procedures.
14. To possess a sound knowledge of activities and services within the centre and to promote/sell them accordingly.
15. To deal with customer enquiries as the initial point of contact.
16. To assist the Centre Management team in the delivery of the administrative and financial procedures of the Centre.
17. To carry out the above duties in compliance with the Council’s policies e.g. Equal Opportunities, Green Strategy, etc.
18. To undertake any further duties which may be commensurate with the grade of the post.

Essential requirements It is essential that the candidate should be able to demonstrate the following criteria for the post. Candidates will only be shortlisted for interview if they can demonstrate that they meet all the essential requirements.

19. Able to deal effectively with customer enquiries both face to face and on the telephone

21. To possess excellent communication skills
22. To have good numeric skills
23. Able to use a computer competently
24. To provide a quality service to our customers
25. Knowledge of basic principles of customer care
26. Experience of working in an environment which provides regular contact with the public
27. Experience of cash handling

Desirable requirements It is desirable that the candidate should be able to demonstrate the following criteria for the post. Candidates are not required to meet all the desirable requirements however these may be used to distinguish between candidates.
