Overview
Joining our dynamic Sensory Services team as a Sensory Services Officer and qualified Rehabilitation Officer of Visual Impairment (ROVI), you’ll be an integral part of our Reablement Service that includes Occupational Therapy, Sensory Services, and CQC Registered Community Response teams.
In this rewarding role, you’ll work with people who have significant sight and/or hearing loss to support them to live independently in their own homes.
What you\'ll do
* Carry out holistic assessments of reablement needs for individuals with sensory impairments.
* Plan and deliver tailored reablement interventions, including mobility and daily living skills training.
* Set SMART goals and support individuals in achieving them.
* Assess for and issue appropriate sensory equipment.
* Provide advice, signposting, and referrals to other services as needed.
* Work collaboratively with families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams, to create tailored rehabilitation plans and deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
* Apply a strengths-based approach to empower individuals throughout their reablement journey.
What we\'re looking for
* A qualified Rehabilitation Officer of Visual Impairment (ROVI) and registered with the Rehabilitation Workers Professional Network (RWPN).
* A genuine desire to improve the lives of those who need support to become as independent as possible.
* Experience working in the vision impairment field.
* Excellent communication skills and a self-motivated, enthusiastic approach.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced community setting.
* Strong assessment and treatment planning skills.
* Experience working with individuals with hearing loss is desirable but not essential.
